Filey
The delightful seaside resort of Filey has been a favourite Yorkshire Coast holiday destination for generations of families. By retaining its' elegant charm it continues to attract people of all ages as the ideal place to rest or investigate the region with it's many attractions.
Filey's five miles of sandy beach stretches from Bempton Cliffs, with the largest colony of Puffins on the British mainland, to the south, up to the Brigg, with Kittiwakes, Guillemot, Sanderlins and Oystercathers, in the north.
The promenade has been refurbished with one of the most inventive pieces of public art at any resort in the UK. Drawing on the fishing heritage of the area, artist and sculptors, Russ Coleman, Mark Powers and Saffron Waghorn have created a wonderful interactive experience for all ages to appreciate.
Filey's town centre boasts an increasing number of quality places to eat, specialist shops, a splendid chocolatier and two supermarkets.
