Ravenscar
In the Victorian seaside holiday boom, the infrastructure for Ravenscar was laid out with Railway Station and roads ready for developers to create a new resort. It never happened, and now you can walk along those streets and enjoy the open spaces of this "ghost town" destination. There is a National Trust centre here, and information about the Trusts' work on the Yorkshire Coast.
For walkers it also marks the end, or beginning, of the Lyke wake Walk.
